Product Description

Kingspan Kooltherm® K12 Framing Board is a super high performance, fibre-free rigid thermoset phenolic insulation, faced on both sides with a low emissivity composite foil, autohesively bonded to the insulation core during manufacture. This reflective surface improves the thermal resistance of any cavity adjacent to the board.

Suitable for Wall Insulation - Concrete, Masonry Block, Brick Veneer, Steel-Framed and Timber-Framed Walls

Super high performance rigid thermoset phenolic insulation
Fibre-free, closed cell insulation core
Can be used between studs or as an insulating sheathing
Suitable for use with timber frame and steel frame wall constructions
Can eliminate cold bridging
Easy to handle and install
Ideal for new build or refurbishment
Manufactured with a CFC/ HCFC-free blowing agent that has zero ODP and low GWP

Scope of Use

Kooltherm K12 Framing Board is a high performance rigid thermoset phenolic insulation for wall applications. It has a fibre-free core and a highly reflective aluminium foil on both sides autohesively bonded to the insulation core during manufacture. Kooltherm K12 Framing Board improves the thermal resistance of a cavity adjacent to the board.

Suitable for timber and steel frame construction.
Suitable for concrete and block wall construction.

New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)

The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

Clause B1 Structure: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B1.3.3(a), B1.3.4
Kooltherm K12 Framing Board meets the performance requirements of NZBC Clause B1 Structure (B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B1.3.3(a), B1.3.4)
Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(a)
Kooltherm K12 Framing Board meets the performance requirements of NZBC Clauses B2 Durability (B2.3.1 (a) 50 years
Clause E3 Internal moisture: Performance E3.3.1
Kooltherm K12 Framing Board meets the performance requirements of NZBC Clause E3 Internal Moisture (contributes to E3.3.1)
Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1
