Technical Statement
Product Description
Viking Enviroclad FBS is a reroofing solution installed over old bitumen or rough substrates such as concrete and tongue and groove, to create a watertight roof finish.
It is a fleece-backed roofing membrane consisting of:
- 1.4 mm layer polyester fleece-backing
- 1.14mm of Enviroclad TPO roofing membrane
The 2 are factory laminated together. When installed the fleece-back bonds with the substrate, transforming an ugly roof surface into an aesthetically gratifying roof.
- High impact and UV resistant.
- 33% greater puncture resistance than most bitumen systems.
- Available in grey or white and offers solar reflectivity.
- Overlaying negates any costs associated with stripping, reconstructing and reconditioning the current roofing surface and no redesigning costs.
- Overlaying avoids exposing the interior of the building to the changing weather conditions as the roof is replaced.
- No need to dump the old roof reducing wastage costs and avoiding filling the local land-fill.
Scope of use
Viking Enviroclad FBS has been assessed as a roof and deck waterproofing membrane on buildings within the following scope:
- The scope limitations of NZS 3604:2011 and NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Paragraph 1.1; or,
- The scope limitations of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Paragraph 1.1 with regards to building height and floor plan area when subject to specific structural design; and,
- Situated in NZS 3604:2011 Wind Zones, up to, and including Extra High; and,
- With substrates of plywood or suspended concrete slab.
Viking Enviroclad FBS has also been assessed for use as a roof and deck waterproofing membrane on specifically designed buildings within the following scope;
- Subject to specific structural and weathertightness design situated in wind pressures up to a maximum differential ultimate limit state (ULS) of 2.7kPa; and,
- With substrates of plywood or suspended concrete slab.
- With the weathertightness design of junctions for each specific structure being the responsibility of the building designer.
