ARDEX WPM 002 (Superflex Bathroom & Balcony 2 Part) is a tough, fast drying two component waterproofing membrane specifically designed for use under tiles. The product has been uniquely formulated with synthetic microfibres to increase its strength and eliminate the need for a separate reinforcement mat.
ARDEX WPM002 is based on the most advanced acrylic polymer technology, and is totally resistant to re-emulsification. ARDEX WPM 002 is flexible, safe to use, low in odour,and is fully compatible with polymer modified tile adhesives. ARDEX WPM 002 is one of the fastest drying acrylic membranes on the market – normally ready to tile in 16-24 hours @ 23°C.
Scope of use
ARDEX WPM 002 is suitable for both residential and commercial applications for internal wet areas, balconies, decks, and other areas that will be otherwise protected from regular foot traffic.
ARDEX WPM 002 can be applied upon concrete, renders and screeds, fibre cement, plasterboard, plywood and particleboard substrates, and used for permanent immersion applications.

New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(b)
- Clause E3 Internal moisture: Performance E3.3.6
- Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1
Design requirements
ARDEX WPM 002 is designed to be used to create a waterproof membrane upon a wall and/or floor to prevent damage to building areas and adjoining areas.
ARDEX WPM 002 is designed to be used where a quicker curing time is required.
ARDEX WPM 002 is designed to be protected from physical damage by the application of ceramic or stone tile finishes.
Maintenance requirements
No maintenance of the membrane will be required provided substrate movement does not occur and the tile finish is still intact. Regular checks of the tiled area must be made to ensure they are sound and will not allow moisture to penetrate. Any cracks or damage must be repaired immediately by repairing the tiles, grouts and sealants.
In the event of damage to the membranes, the tiling must be removed and the membrane repaired by removing the damaged portion and applying as for new work.
Drainage outlets must be maintained to operate effectively, and ceramic or stone tile finishes must be kept clean.
