Product Description
Polyfon Mesh™ is a perforated open cell ceiling panel designed to provide a contemporary industrial aesthetic when using standard two way exposed ceiling grid. Panels may be mixed and matched with other ceiling panel types for design effect or acoustic control. Available in diamond, square and hexagonal patterns.
Scope of use
Ideal for use in deconstructed commercial interiors, retail complexes, hospitality, airports, showrooms and other large volume public spaces.
This product is designed to be mounted into a two-way exposed grid system and installed to manufacturer’s, AS/NZS
2785:2020 Standard’s and AWCINZ Code of Practice requirements.
• For interior use only, and not in direct contact with water.
• Not for use with negative air return plenums.
• Maximum humidity/temperature 99% R/H at 45°C.
• Back loading — No overlay loads, M&E services and point loads to be independently supported.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(c)
Clause B2.3.1 (c) (i): 5 years if building elements are easy
to access and replace.
Asona Polyfon Mesh with only normal
maintenance will have a minimum durability of at least 5 years when installed
in accordance with; manufacturer’s installation requirements and AS/NZS
2785:2020.

Design requirements
Polyfon Mesh™ provides a creative mask to the plenum, roof, floor or soffit above, which remains open to air circulation and lighting options. Its open-cell design allows visibility into the plenum for security in airports and other transport hubs.
Polyfon Mesh™ is simply installed into exposed grid suspended ceiling systems, whether a new installation or a retro fit.
Its lightweight construction compared to other heavier open-cell materials allows for lighter seismic ceiling requirements. In the unlikely event of dislodgement during an earthquake, its soft composition will not harm any occupants.
Made in NZ for short lead times, installation and replacements.
Installation requirements
Shall not commence until the building is watertight and dry. This product is designed to be mounted into a two-way exposed grid system and installed to manufacturer’s, AS/NZS
2785:2020 Standard and AWCINZ Code of Practice requirements. Panels are not to support any weight and equipment shall be independently supported. Seismic design may require a suitably qualified engineer. Care shall be taken when handling tiles to avoid damage.
Maintenance requirements
Clean with vacuum, soft brush or melamine foam ‘magic’ cleaner.
Warrantees
Polyfon Mesh™ is covered by a 15 year limited warranty against manufacturing defects.
Environmental
Polyester, no chemical binders or pesticides, tested low VOC’s per ASTMD51106(TVOC 0.004 mg/m²/hr, Aldehydes <0.01 ppm, Formaldehyde0.004 mg), low embodied energy, low transport km’s vs imports.
Currently under Global GreenTag assessment.
