Scope of use
FasTLock Suspended Ceiling Grid System is a suspended exposed (two way) grid ceiling system. It is designed to be used as a suspended ceiling system in both commercial & residential type buildings within the following scope:
- Concrete structure/floors, timber framing, and steel framing designed and constructed to comply with the NZBC
- Designed and installed in accordance with AS/NZS 2785:2000
- FasTLock is a non trafficable ceiling.
The seismic option includes expansion clips which enable grid to safely drift with building during a tremor or quake.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B1 Structure: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B1.3.3(a), B1.3.3(f), B1.3.3(h), B1.3.3(j), B1.3.3(q), B1.3.4
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(b), B2.3.1(c), B2.3.2
- Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1

Product Criteria
Design requirements
FasTLock is designed to be used in any commercial interior building application where a standard suspended ceiling grid is desired.
FasTLock is designed to accommodate a wide variety of Ecoplus ceiling tile solutions including mineral and glass fibre, wood and plasterboard.
FasTLock is available in two standard widths:
- 24mm for general applications
- 15mm a minimalist option providing a less dominant appearance
FasTLock is stocked in white as standard. Black is available on an indent basis. Custom colours are also available subject to minimum production runs

Installation requirements
Work shall comply with the installation requirements of AN/NZS 2785:2000 by appropriately qualified trade contractors.
Internal ceiling installation shall not proceed until the building is effectively weather-tight and the work of wet trades has been completed and dried.
Suspended ceilings shall only be installed upon the completion of construction above the ceiling.
The ceiling system shall not be suspended from, and shall be kept clear of, any building services such as ducts, unless specifically designed otherwise. Additional loads are not to be placed upon or carried by the suspension system.
Mechanical and electrical ductwork above the suspension system shall be completed before installation.

Maintenance requirements
FasTLock supended Ceiling Grid System must be protected from internal and external moisture in accordance with NZBC E2 and E3.
FasTLock must be used in dry, non corrosive internal situations, and must not be used where it is likely to be exposed to water or where extended exposure above 95% RH is expected.
Where repainting of the grid system is required consult ECOPLUS Systems Ltd.
