Product Description
bituFLAME is an APP modified bitumen membrane reinforced with 180 - 200 gsm non-woven polyester fabric. bituFLAME has good flexibility at both high and low temperatures
Scope of use
The bituFLAME torch-on membrane system is used to provide waterproofing protection on commercial, industrial, apartments, residential roofs and balconies with an extensive accessory range which is fully compatible providing the best waterproofing protection system available.
bituFLAME torchon membrane system complies with the NZBC as an
alternative solution BRANZ appraisal number (404) for use on roofs,
decks and for potable water supplies.
One of the advantages of
bituFLAME is the comprehensive range of specialist membrane systems: for roofing, tanking,
planter boxes, green roofs, ballast roofs and re-roofing old bitumen roof membranes.
bituFLAME is
BRANZ appraised for timber raft and tileJAK systems.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(b)
- Clause E2 External moisture: Performance E2.3.1, E2.3.2
- Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1
Notes
Durability statement: bituFLAME has been specified in the market for more than 20 years therefore surpassing its in-service 20 year warrantable life.

Use in Service History
Waterproofing Systems NZ Ltd bituFLAME has a in service history in New Zealand since 2008, previously polyFLAME first introduced to the Market 23 years ago.\
Product Criteria
Design requirements
Plywood and concrete substrates to be clean and fully dry/cured.
Plywood: Construction Plywood grade
H3.2 CCA treated kiln dried 17mm thick for roofs,19mm thick for decks.
Concrete: smooth surface finish to be either U2 wood float or U3 steel trowel to NZ 3114.
Specified falls:
Roofs - 2º slope (1:30)
Decks - 1.5º slope (1:40)
Gutters - 1º slope (1:100)
Installation requirements
Refer the Waterproofing Systems installation guidelines and specifications.
Only installed by licenced LBP registered Waterproofing Systems NZ ltd applicators.
Quality Control checksheets must be completed for each job and kept as a record of evidence to ensure the installation meets WPSNZ specification.
The bituFLAME system should be installed in dry conditions. The substrate must have a maximum moisture content of 20% for plywood and 75% RH for concrete at the time of laying.
Substrate falls for the installation are correct.
Dropper outlets and scuppers are installed to specification.
Primer is applied at the correct application rate.
Extruded bitumen fillets are installed to specification.

Refer to the Care & Maintenance instructions available on our website and are attached to the Warranty document.
Warrantees
When installed to specification and subject to normal environmental conditions and use, the bituFLAME membrane system will exceed 20 year period when properly maintained.
A material warranty is issued on receipt of Quality Control Checksheet/s and warranty application.
