The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B1 Structure: Performance B1.3.3(e), B1.3.3(j), B1.3.3(m), B1.3.3(q)
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(a)
- Clause E2 External moisture: Performance E2.3.3
- Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1
Design requirements
Newton 109-LM is a constituent product of the Newton HydroBond System. Newton 109-LM is also adept as a
detailing membrane for the termination and jointing of other Newton waterproofing products,
and is the perfect primer for the adhesion of butyl products to concrete and mortar.
Installation requirements
Newton 109-LM can be applied with brush, roller or airless spray. The Newton 109-LM is required to be designed and installed according to the details and drawings described in technical and installation manual, by Newton System’s trained and approved applicators. When used in conjunction with Newton 403 HydroBond
or 403 HydroBond-GB as a full HydroBond System, overlap by a minimum of 150 mm. Newton 109-LM does not require a primer unless
applied to horizontal surfaces. Installation temperature +5 to +35 ºC.
Maintenance requirements
Newton 109-LM is extremely puncture resistant with elasticity of 850% and a 95% recovery
memory. When used to waterproof retained walls, Newton
109-LM must be protected prior to back-fill.
Warrantees
Correctly installed, fully covered and protected, Newton 109-LM will
provide, under normal conditions, a durable waterproof
covering for the life of the building to which it is installed. The expected life time of the building itself should be at least 50 years. Please note that this is not the guarantee. The waterproofing guarantee is provided by the specialist waterproofing applicator who installs the product.
