Protecta Protecta® FR Board is a high-density stone wool firestop board coated with Protecta® FR Coating on both sides, designed to prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and hot gases through openings in fire-rated walls and floors, especially where multiple building services penetrate. Tested and assessed to AS1530.4-2014 and AS4072.1-2005, and acoustically rated to STC 55, it delivers excellent fire, smoke, and acoustic performance. The coated core reduces heat transfer and hot gas permeability while remaining flexible during fire exposure. Suitable for use with Protecta® FR Acrylic, FR Collar, and FR Pipe Wrap systems, it is ideal for sealing service penetrations and head-of-wall gaps in various construction types. Easy to install and retrofit, it supports in-aperture and pattress-fit applications, can be installed in gypsum walls without framing, and provides a durable, halogen-free solution with a 30-year service life under correct conditions.
Protecta Protecta® FR Board is designed for use in fire-rated walls and floors where openings are required for building service penetrations, including cables, cable bundles, metal pipes, conduits, and mixed services. Suitable for plasterboard, masonry, concrete, timber, steel, and other common construction types, the system is used to seal penetrations and head-of-wall gaps to maintain fire, smoke, and acoustic performance. Protecta® FR Board may be installed in both in-aperture and pattress-fit configurations and can be retrofitted to accommodate additional services after installation. Designed for interior use only, it is compatible with Protecta® FR Acrylic, FR Collar, and FR Pipe Wrap systems and can be installed in gypsum walls without framing the opening. Protecta FR Board has been tested and assessed to AS 1530.4:2014 and AS 4072.1:2005, providing fire resistance ratings (FRR) when applied to fire-rated substrates in accordance with the relevant tested system, tech drawings and product information.

Protecta FR Board should be used for interior applications in fire-rated walls and floors where protection against the spread of fire through service penetrations is required.
The product must be installed in accordance with the relevant tested and assessed systems to AS 1530.4:2014 and AS 4072.1:2005. Suitable substrates include concrete, masonry, timber, gypsum construction materials.
Protecta FR Board is suitable for linear joints, blank apertures, service penetration gaps, and applications used in conjunction with Protecta FR Acrylic, FR Collars, FR Pipe Wrap, and EX Mortar systems.

Products must not be modified in any way that may compromise performance. All fire-rated service penetrations must be labelled in accordance with AS 4072.1:2005.
Protecta products should be stored in a clean, dry location and kept in their original packaging prior to installation.
Protecta passive fire protection products have no specific maintenance requirements. Damaged products should be repaired or replaced to maintain the required FRR of the fire-rated system.
