Protecta Protecta FR Acrylic is a high-performance, fire-rated acrylic sealant designed to prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and sound through joints and service penetrations in fire-rated walls and floors. Assessed to AS1530.4-2014 and AS4072.1-2005, it provides up to 4 hours fire resistance while maintaining acoustic performance with an STC rating of 62 and zero smoke leakage tested to 200Pa. The sealant remains permanently flexible, accommodating joint movement up to 12.5%, and expands at approximately 180°C to form an intumescent char that blocks fire and smoke passage. Suitable for use with concrete, masonry, timber, gypsum, steel, aluminium, and other non-porous substrates, it requires no priming on most surfaces and can be overpainted for a seamless finish. Ideal for sealing linear joints and service penetrations, including use with Protecta FR Board, it offers a low-emission, VOC-compliant solution with a service life of up to 30 years.

Suitable for use around cables, metal pipes up to 324mm diameter, conduits, and mixed service penetrations in plasterboard, masonry, concrete, timber, steel, and other non-porous constructions. The sealant is compatible with a wide range of firestop systems, including use with Protecta FR Board and Protecta FR Collars. Designed for interior applications, Protecta FR Acrylic provides up to 4 hours fire resistance, zero smoke leakage, and high acoustic performance. All installations must be completed in accordance with tested or assessed systems to AS1530.4:2014 and AS4072.1:2005. Protecta FR Acrylic Sealant should be used for interior applications in fire-rated walls and floors where protection against the spread of fire, smoke, and sound through joints and service penetrations is required.
The product must be installed in accordance with the relevant tested and assessed systems to AS 1530.4:2014 and AS 4072.1:2005. Suitable substrates include concrete, masonry, timber, gypsum, steel, and other non-porous construction materials.
Protecta FR Acrylic is suitable for linear joints, gaps around service penetrations, and applications used in conjunction with Protecta FR Board systems

Products must not be modified in any way that may compromise performance. All fire-rated service penetrations must be labelled in accordance with AS 4072.1:2005.
Protecta products should be stored in a clean, dry location and kept in their original packaging prior to installation.
Protecta passive fire protection products have no specific maintenance requirements. Damaged products should be repaired or replaced to maintain the required FRR of the fire-rated system.
