Scope of Use

Lead the vision impaired to Hazard / Warning Tactiles to warn as:

Life threatening hazards where serious falls may occur, such as at railway platforms, wharves, vehicular driveways and exits from car parks, etc., which intersect access paths
To indicate that a point of importance has been reached, such as the location of a bus sign or tram stop or the location of a change of direction on a pedestrian crossing island or as wayfinding to signify the location of a change of direction while traveling
At the top and bottom of stairways and ramps warning of a change in level.
At pedestrian crossings to indicate the path of travel

New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)

The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

Installation requirements

Drill and Adhesive Fix or Drill and Friction Fit in accordance to New Zealand Standards. Complete Installation instructions available upon Freedom Strategies client request.

Maintenance requirements

Regular Cleaning:

Clean brass tactile indicators regularly to prevent tarnish and oxidation. Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a sponge with warm, soapy water to remove dirt and grime.
Avoid abrasive materials like steel wool, scouring pads, or harsh chemical cleaners, as they can scratch the brass surface.

Polishing:

To restore the shine of brass, periodically use a brass cleaner or polish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific product you choose.
Alternatively, you can make a homemade brass cleaner by mixing equal parts vinegar and water with a pinch of salt. Apply this mixture to the brass, rub gently, and then rinse and dry thoroughly.
