Compliance Statement
Scope of Use
The 616 system must be used within the limitations specified by Inpro for the particular product configuration.
- The nominal structural joint width must be confirmed against the approved construction documentation and Inpro product data before manufacture or installation.
- The surrounding substrate must be structurally adequate to support the expansion joint system and its fixings.
- The system must be installed onto a level and suitable substrate in accordance with Inpro's installation requirements.
- The 616 architectural joint cover does not determine the required structural seismic gap. Structural joint width and movement requirements remain the responsibility of the project structural designer.
- The required movement range must be established by the project structural engineer or other suitably qualified project designer.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B1 Structure: Performance B1.3.3(f)

Notes
The JM616 Series is a flush-mounted exterior architectural seismic expansion-joint system designed for exterior wall and ceiling movement joints.
The system incorporates aluminium framing, flexible Santoprene seals and an integral backseal. Its pleated exposed seal is designed to accommodate building movement while maintaining a relatively low-profile appearance.

Design requirements
Prior to product selection or ordering, the designer and/or contractor must establish:
- Structural joint location; nominal joint width;expected opening movement
- Expected closing movement
- Seismic movement
- Shear movement where applicable
- Wall-to-wall or wall-to-corner condition
- Substrate construction
- Adjacent wall or façade finish
- Exterior exposure conditions
- Finish requirements
- Moisture-barrier requirements
- Transition details
- Termination details
- Fire-rating requirements, if any.
Product selection must be based on the latest Inpro technical data and approved project-specific shop drawings.Where actual site conditions differ from the approved details, Interior Components Limited must be notified before installation proceeds.
Maintenance requirements
The installed expansion joint system should be periodically inspected as part of the building's normal façade and building-envelope maintenance programme.
Inspections should include:
- Aluminium cover plates
- Alignment of cover plates
- Frames
- Fixings
- Centering components
- Gaskets
- Exposed sealant joints and splice locations
- Moisture-barrier interfaces where accessible
- Terminations and transitions
