Product Description
VCS low pitch solar powered opening skylights are available in 7 sizes.
Suitable for installation within the range from 0º to 60º the VCS skylight
is top hinged and consists of the following integrated components – an
interior condensation drainage gasket, an insulating glass unit, an interior PVC white maintenance- free frame and sash, exterior structurally glazed,
roll-formed aluminum sash and frame counter flashing with ASA corner keys.
Insulating glass unit constructed of stainless steel spacer with "warm edge" technology
with glazing of internal laminated glass, Argon gas filled cavity,
low E3 coating applied to underside of external toughened glass. NEAT
outer coating applied to outer face of external toughened glass pane, to reduce
cleaning frequency. Fitted with proprietary VELUX motor, comes with external
mounted solar panel with integrated rain sensor and wall mounted, battery
operated keypad
Scope of use
Can be used in all roofs from 0-60 degrees, in conjunction with custom made flashing by third party contractor.

Skylights satisfy the durability requirements specified for Non-structural
Roof Cladding elements and External Window/Door Joinery.
C3 Protection from Fire -
AS 1530 - VELUX Skylights have been classified as “non-combustible”
according to AS 1530 test methods.
E2 External Moisture - AS 4285
- VELUX Skylights have passed tests for weather tightness,
concentrated load, non-cyclonic and cyclonic wind pressures according to
Australian Skylight Standard AS4285 test methods.
F2 Hazardous Building
Materials - NZS 4233: Part 4, AS/NZS 4666 - VELUX Skylights comply with
requirements for sloped Insulating Glass Units.
G4/AS1 Natural Ventilation
(1.2, 2.1) - VELUX Opening Skylights can be used to meet the
G4 Natural
Ventilation requirements.
G7 Natural Light - VELUX
Skylights can be used to meet the G7 Natural Light requirements.
H1 Energy Efficiency - NZS
4218 - VELUX Skylights exceed the minimum R-value requirements for
skylights in all climate zones.

Product Criteria
Design requirements
VCS skylights are modular fixed, solar power opening skylights intended
for roof pitches between 0 and 60 degrees. They are available in standard sizes
only. The IGU glazing unit has argon gas fill and Low E3 applied to the inside
surface of the outer pane. The IGU unit meets the requirements of NZBC F2. VCS skylights have been tested for impact but are not intended to be part of a
trafficable roof surface. VCS skylights do not have a fire rating.
Installation requirements
Install FCM skylight in accordance with manufacturer’s
installation instructions, supplied with FCM, and with local building code
requirements.
Align skylight with curb, free of warp or twist, maintaining dimensional
tolerances. Attach skylight to curb with screws furnished by manufacturer.
Coordinate attachment and seal of perimeter air and vapor barrier material.
Provide insulation of the curb for maximum energy efficiency. Install site
made flashing in accordance with the latest version of the New Zealand Roofing Code of Practice to achieve weather- tight installation.

surfaces must be cleaned with clean water at least once a year, subject to the
environmental conditions present.
