Product Description
GGU manual opening roof windows are available in 7 sizes. Suitable for
installation within the range from 15º to 90º. GGU Roof Windows is centre-pivoting and consists of the following integrated components – an interior
condensation drainage gasket, wooden frame and sash encased in white polyurethane. Exterior maintenance-free aluminium
cladding/counter flashing, ASA corner keys, and an insulating thermal pane.
Insulating glass unit constructed of a stainless steel spacer with "warm
edge" technology, with glazing of internal laminated
glass, Argon filled cavity, low E3 coating applied to upper side of internal laminated glass pane. Proprietary VELUX KMG100K electric motor with rainsensor can be fitted to automate the roof window. Used in conjunction with KLC 500 control unit.
Scope of use
Suitable for all
roofs with a pitch between 15-90 degrees, used in conjunction with VELUX
proprietary flashings or custom-made flashings in accordance with the latest
version of the New Zealand Roofing Code of practice.

B2/AS1 Durability - AS 4285 - VELUX Skylights satisfy
the durability requirements specified for Non-structural Roof Cladding elements
and External Window/Door Joinery.
C3 Protection from Fire - AS 1530 - VELUX Skylights have
been classified as “non-combustible” according to AS 1530 test methods.
E2 External Moisture - AS 4285 - VELUX Skylights have
passed tests for weather tightness, concentrated load, non-cyclonic and
cyclonic wind pressures .
F2 Hazardous Building Materials - NZS 4233: Part 4, AS/NZS 4666
- VELUX Skylights comply with requirements for sloped Insulating Glass Units.
G4/AS1 Natural Ventilation (1.2, 2.1) - VELUX Opening Skylights can be used to
meet the
G4 Natural Ventilation requirements.
G7 Natural Light - VELUX Skylights can be used to meet the G7
Natural Light requirements.
H1 Energy Efficiency - NZS 4218 - VELUX Skylights exceed the
minimum R-value requirements for skylights in all climate zones.

Product Criteria
Design requirements
GGU Roof Windows are modular manual opening Roof Windows intended
for roof pitches between 15 and 90 degrees. They are available in standard sizes
only. The IGU glazing unit has argon gas fill and Low E3 applied to the inside
surface of the outer pane. The IGU unit meets the requirements of NZBC F2
GGU Roof Windows have been tested for impact but are not intended
to be part of a trafficable roof surface.
GGU Roof Windows do not have a fire rating.
Installation requirements
Install GGU roof window in accordance
with instructions supplied with GGU roof window and local building code
requirements. PG_452953-2013-03-GGL-GGU_V22.indd (azureedge.net) Align
skylight with the trim opening, free of warp or twist, maintaining dimensional
tolerances. Attach skylight to the trim-out frame with screws furnished by
manufacturer. Coordinate attachment and seal of perimeter air and vapor barrier
material. Weathertightness to be achieved by using either VELUX proprietary
flashings installed in accordance with supplied installation instructions, or
custom-made flashings made in accordance with the latest version of NZ Roofing
Code of Practice.

Exterior surfaces must be cleaned with clean water at least once
a year, subject to the environmental conditions present.
