Scope of use
Metal cladding Materials used to construct the building envelope shall be:In accordance with the durability requirements of NZBC B2 Suitable for their end use, location and environment as shown in E2/AS1 Table 20, and Compatible with adjoining materials as shown in E2/AS1 Table 21 and Table 22.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(b)
- Clause C3 Fire affecting areas beyond the fire source: Performance C3.9
- Clause E2 External moisture: Performance E2.3.1, E2.3.2

C Fire: Colorsteel® Maxx® and Colorsteel® Endura® is rated as a Group 1-S material when tested in accordance with ISO 5660:2002 Part 1 and Part 2.

C.Fire Colorcote® Zinacore™ - Colorcote® Magnaflow™ Colorsteel® Alumigard™ is rated as a Group 1-S material when tested in accordance with ISO 5660:2002 Part 1 and Part 2.
G12 Drinking Water: Colorsteel® and Colorcote® samples tested in accordance with AS/NZS 4020:2005 passed the requirements for products in contact with drinking water.

Product Criteria
Design requirements
When used as a roof a minimum pitch of 8º is recommended and sheet lengths restricted to < 3 metres. When coupled with a range of substrate materials, surface finishes and perforated options,
Slimline® Mini Corrugate exhibits flexibility, and practicality as a modern architectural product.
The product suitable as a wall cladding, office fit out, fencing, acoustic walling, feature walling and similar architectural uses, and is the subject of specific design in such cases.
Installation requirements
Installation requirements Refer to the Roofing Industries Profile Technical Summary and this to be read in connection with E2/AS1 and the NZ Metal Roof and Wall Cladding Code of Practice.
Maintenance requirements
Regular maintenance will extend the life of Slimline and associated accessories.
Areas not receiving regular rain washing should be washed with fresh water on a regular basis.
Maintenance guides are available from Roofing Industries.
- Washing of naturally unwashed areas at least every 6 months.
- Removal of debris from gutters every 6 months.
- Any noticeable build up of salt deposits and/or other contaminants are removed when identified.
- When considering over painting please consult with your local distributor to ensure correct procedures are undertaken.Inspection of the roof, including fasteners, repair any damage every 6 months.
Warrantees
Most products used in the construction sector need some form of
regular maintenance to ensure life of the products meet performance
and warranty expectancy and most certainly metal roofing, cladding
and rainwater products are no different. The cumulative effects of
weather, airborne contaminants, grime and debris coupled with
New Zealand’s extensive coastline and associated corrosive
atmosphere can create degradation without programmed maintenance.
