Product Description
SOLITEX EXTASANA is an external wall underlay designed for the New Zealand market which offers optimum protection against leaky building syndrome. Your construction will be "Dry as a bone".
SOLITEX EXTASANA is:
- NEW GENERATION - high performance monolithic nonporous membrane
- diffusion open from the inside allowing moisture to pass through
- active moisture transport
- high water resistance – water column more than 10,000mm
- low vapour resistance - MVTR lower than 0.75 MNs/g
- suitable for use as an air barrier as per NZS2295:2006 and E2/AS1 Table 23
- highly durable under all conditions - unaffected by wood preservatives
- UV stabilised - can be exposed to the New Zealand elements for 90 days
- easy to install
- recyclable (emits no toxic gases when burned)
- Equivalent of the 'Acceptable Solution' and meets all the requirements of Table 23 in E2/AS1

Scope of use
- SOLITEX EXTASANA ADHERO

has been appraised for use as a wall underlay over fibre cement, oriented strand board and plywood rigid wall underlays, on timber and steel framed buildings
- SOLITEX EXTASANA ADHERO
®
has been appraised for use as a roof underlay over OSB and plywood roof sarking, on timber and steel framed buildings
- SOLITEX EXTASANA ADHERO
®
has been appraised for use as a roof and wall underlay on CLT and SIP constructions
- The above scope is within the limitations of NZBC E2/AS1, and situated with NZS 3604 wind zones up to and including 'Extra High'

- SOLITEX EXTASANA ADHERO

has also been appraised for use over rigid wall underlays or roof sarking on buildings subject to specific weather-tightness design, that fall outside of the scope of NZS3604 and E2/AS1. In these cases, building designers are responsible for the building design and the incorporation of ADHERO
®
self adhesive underlay in to their design, in accordance with its declared properties and the instructions of Pro Clima NZ Ltd

The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

, if used, designed, installed and maintained in accordance with the statements and conditions of the Installation Guide and BRANZ Appraisal, will meet, or contribute to meeting the following provisions of the NZBC:
- Clause B2 DURABILITY: Performance B2.3.1(a), not less than 50 years, B2.3.1(b), 15 years and B2.3.2. SOLITEX EXTASANA ADHERO

Product Criteria
Design requirements
- ADHERO
®
must not be exposed to the weather or UV light for a total of more than 180 days before being covered by the wall or roof cladding.
- When ADHERO
®
is used in conjunction with LOSP treated timber, the solvent from the timber treatment must be allowed to evaporate (approx 1 week) prior to the installation of the underlay.
- ADHERO
®
may be used as a flexible wall underlay over plywood or fibre cement as specified in NZBC E2/AS1 paragraph 9.1.7.1.
- When ADHERO
®
is used over a rigid wall underlay of (FC or Plywood), it may be used as a temporary weather protecting sheathing to allow the internal lining of framed buildings to proceed before the wall cladding is installed.
- Timber and steel framing must be provided in accordance with the requirements of the NZBC and the rigid underlay and cladding supplier
- CLT and SIP constructions that ADHERO
®
is to be used over must meet the requirements of the NZBC

Installation requirements
1. Installation shall always be carried out as follows:
- By an LBP, or under the supervision of an LBP with the relevant Licence class
- To comply with all of the relevant technical information, including the

Installation Guide, Installer Checklist and BRANZ Appraisal 989
- On framed walls, the product must cover the full extent of the substrate it is adhering to
- On CLT and SIP constructions, the product must be installed as directed by the CLT or SIP system proprietor, and as required by the NZBC Clause E2
- Markings should be made on the substrate before the first piece of ADHERO
®
is installed, so the product is installed level or plumb
- care should be taken to avoid wrinkles or folds in the product
- 150mm laps in all directions
- The product should be smoothed with a 150mm wide roller or the PRESSFIX XL tool to ensure adhesion to the substrate

Maintenance requirements
Provided it is not exposed to the weather or ultra-violet light for a total of more than 180 days, and provided the exterior cladding is maintained in accordance with the cladding manufacturer’s instructions and the cladding remains weather resistant, SOLITEX EXTASANA ADHERO
®
underlay is expected to have a serviceable life equal to that of the cladding. No maintenance is required during this time
Warrantees
The Pro Clima Warranty Agreement applies to SOLITEX EXTASANA ADHERO
®
as per other Pro Clima products used in the construction.
The Warranty period for products shall begin at the time of the sale of the product to the first customer by Pro Clima NZ Ltd, and shall end six years after this time. The warranty period shall extend to ten years after the time of the sale of the product to the first customer by Pro Clima NZ Ltd if installation of the products is carried out solely in combination with Pro Clima standard products, insofar as products for the relevant application are available as part of the Pro Clima system.
