Accumen manufactures premium lightweight decorative mouldings that bring timeless architectural detail to any building. From classic heritage profiles to clean modern lines, our mouldings replicate the look of traditional plaster and stone — without the weight or the complexity. At a fraction of the weight of cast stone or solid plaster, they add negligible load and fix quickly by hand. Supplied pre-plastered, they install onto a weathertight substrate and need only sealing and painting — no site plastering, and a consistent factory finish every time. Purely decorative, they carry no structural load and form no part of the weathertight line, so the wall system performs as designed. The range spans standard profiles — cornices, sills, quoins, bands, columns and pediments — through to custom shapes made to your drawings. Made in New Zealand, with short lead times and local technical support. Ideal for restorations, new builds and commercial projects where style and precision matter.
Non-load-bearing decorative elements applied to a prepared, weathertight cladding or substrate, for external and, where specified, internal use on domestic and commercial buildings. Suitable for:
Profiles include columns, capitals, plinths, bases, cornices, parapets, string courses, dado lines, architraves, bands, quoins, corbels, sills, eyebrows, chimney surrounds, arches, fence caps, letterboxes, false vents, shutters and bespoke shapes.
Outside scope: weathertight cladding; structural support; wearing surfaces or trafficable details. Profile size, weight and length are subject to limits confirmed at quotation.

Substrate: specify a substrate that is independently weathertight before the mouldings are fixed - typically a direct-fix or cavity-based plaster cladding system, masonry, ETICS or prepared brick veneer. Surface must be flat to within 3 mm and compatible with the adhesive. System selection: DecraShape for standard profiles and volume work; fourPLUS where impact resistance or heritage replication is required; tenPLUS for portico build-ups and large projecting profiles; ShapeCrete at ground level, for impact-prone details and where a solid stone-like finish is required. Detailing: control joints at 1.2-5.4 m must align with control joints in the underlying structure. Fixing centers 0.8-1.6 m. Battens and angle supports, where required by exposure or profile, are installed by the builder before fixing. Specify paint LRV per the cladding system - dark colours accelerate movement and degradation. Confirm maximum profile size, weight and length with Accumen at design stage.
Install only by competent tradespersons per the Accumen Installation Manual. Preparation: substrate must be flat to within 3 mm, clean, dry and independently weathertight before fixing. Where required by exposure or profile, the builder installs the batten or angle support first. Fixing: apply TidyUp adhesive plaster to the back of the moulding with a notched trowel at 3-5 mm. Mechanical fixings - stainless steel recommended; use a large washer, set below the surface and plastered over. Fixing centers 0.8-1.6 m per profile size and weight. ShapeCrete capitals must be fixed through the capital into the center post or soffit. Joints: control joints between lengths at 1.2-5.4 m, aligned to control joints in the structure, using MS Polymer sealant with backing rod. Cutting: concrete handsaw or mitre saw with masonry blade. Eye protection, dust mask and scaffolding required. Finishing: fill gaps to the wall with MS Polymer sealant, then paint per the cladding system within LRV limits.
Durability of not less than 15 years (B2.3.1(b)) is conditional on the following programme, from the Accumen Maintenance Guide. Annual inspection (12 months): inspect joints, sealant, flashings and the moulding surface for damage and potential water ingress. Inspect the paint and repair paint-film damage promptly to maintain weathertightness. Engage a registered plasterer to remedy physical damage. Cleaning (12-18 months): remove loose dirt and dust; wash with diluted house-washing liquid using a soft broom and rinse with clean water. Do NOT use strong solvent cleaners or harsh water-blasting. Avoid run-off into stormwater. Repainting (7-10 years): repaint on the same cycle as the surrounding plaster cladding, by a professional painter. Darker colours (low LRV) may need earlier repainting. Paint LRV must comply with the cladding system specification. The coating is integral: mouldings must remain painted or recoated in a purpose-designed plaster system at all times.
