Product Description
IBuilt's JJ I-Joist offer superior value, strength and reliability and are perfect for flooring or roofing applications.
I-Joist's are fast to install, light weight and available in long lengths up to 12 metres. The OSB web allows the ability to cut large holes which provide better access for ducting, plumbing and cabling.
JJ-IJoist is manufactured from Scots pine (top and bottom flanges) and
oriented strand board (webs), which are bonded together with an exterior grade Purbond
adhesive. After manufacture, the beams are boron-treated with Koppers FramePro for use in hazard class H1.2 applications. They are available in two sizes, 240x72mm and 300x72mm.
Scope of use
In conjunction with
timber or lightweight steel framing that complies with the NZ Building Code, or
for existing buildings, where the designer and/or installer have established
that the existing structure is suitable for the intended building work.
In accordance with I-Joist span tables or to the requirements of NZS 3604 as referenced in and
amended by B1/AS1
Within the building envelope where hazard class H1.2 or less
applies.
Fixing material to be in accordance with section 4,
NZS 3604:2011
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

Structural properties reviewed in accordance with ASTM D5055 and

Structural review by Lignum Structural as consistent with NZ
Building Code requirements and appropriate for use in specific
design in accordance with NZS 3603:1993 [Lignum Structural

Product Criteria
Design requirements
IBUILT™ supplies boron-treated I-Joists (I-Beams) for use as joist and rafter
framing in buildings, and located where the I-Joist is entirely contained within
the external envelope and where it is protected from exposure to moisture.
Installation requirements
Qualified Builder to comply with NZ Building Standards. Refer to IBuilt Design and Installation Guide.
