Scope of Use
- Is suitable for use such as interior wall linings and cabinetry
- Is suitable for use in wet areas such as kitchens, laundries and some bathroom applications
- Is suitable for use where fire ratings need to achieve a group 1-s when combined with an intumescent coating
- Is suitable for both commercial and residential applications
- Is not suitable for exterior applications where ambient environmental moisture content is likely to be elevated for extended periods such as interior swimming pools, sauna or industrial wet areas
- Is not recommended for wet areas where consistent contact with moisture will occur
- Is expected to change colour with UV exposure, this is not considered a defect but a natural occurrence in all timber products. Blinds, UV films or glazings can be used to mitigate the risk
- Is not suitable for high-wear applications such as bench tops, counters or tabletops
- Is not intended to provide structural bracing to the building
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1, B2.3.1(c)
Contribution to B2.3.1(c)(i) and (ii): Shinnoki panels have a 7-year product warranty. This ensures the product will be free from defects or delamination for 7 years from the purchase date. Shinnoki has a density of 730kg/m³ and 6 layers of UV-cured lacquer to protect the panel's surface. - Clause C2 Prevention of Fire occurring: Performance C2.2
Contribution to C2.2: To meet clause C2 Prevention of fire occurring Shinnoki must not be placed near a heat source that will cause the surface temperature to exceed 90oc. - Clause C3 Fire affecting areas beyond the fire source: Performance C3.4, C3.4(a)
Contribution to C3.4(a) and (b): Shinnoki panels achieve a group 3 fire rating with their standard prefinished lacquer coating, this relates to flash-over occurring between 2-10 minutes. Shinnoki panels can achieve a group 1-s fire rating when an intumescent coating is introduced, resulting in flash-over occurring after 20 minutes with a smoke growth rate of less than 5m2/s. - Clause E3 Internal moisture: Performance E3.3.4, E3.3.5, E3.3.6

Contribution to F2.3.1: Shinnoki is safe when handled, has no added formaldehyde, and achieves an E1 Formaldehyde Emission rating. - Clause G3 Food preparation and prevention of contamination: Performance G3.3.2, G3.3.2(a)

Design requirements
Shinnoki is a premium collection of prefinished oak, walnut, and triba wood veneer panels.
Constructed using a moisture-resistant core, Shinnoki is designed to be used in wet areas such as kitchens, laundries, and some bathroom applications. Edge banding is used to protect the panel edge, available in either timber or ABS.
Shinnoki is available in 12 colours with a lightly brushed texture and a matte finish.
- Stocked in a 19mm x 1220mm x 2790mm Panel - All colours
- Stocked in a 31 x 31 x 3040mm 3 sided Slat - 5 Colours
- Indent in a 1mm x 1220 x 3050mm Flex Sheet - All Colours
Panels of bespoke sizes are available for indent orders.
Please note the whole collection has received a fresh look-and-feel. Be aware old & new are not compatible.
Installation requirements
- We recommend Shinnoki Products are handled and installed by an experienced joiner/builder.
- All Shinnoki Flex Products must be installed in accordance with our Shinnoki Laminates Gluing Instructions
- Specify the correct Installation products using our Masterspec Work Section 5511VS VidaSpace Timber Veneer Cabinetry
- If installing Shinnoki Panels using Fastmount Systems please install in accordance with our Fastmount Installation Guide
- Avoid leaning panels against walls.
- Do not store or transport panels in direct sunlight.
- Store panels where construction traffic and construction activity will not damage panels.
- Treat panels as a finished product and avoid dragging panels on the outer surface or across other surfaces.
- Store only in dry interior conditions on a minimum of three bearers across the full width of the panels keeping it flat at all times.
