Technical Statement
Product Description
Scope of use
Mammoth NOVAhush Acoustic Bafflestack blanket is designed for use in the ceiling plenum space to reduce sound transmission over the ceiling path. In high rise buildings and offices, NOVAhush Bafflestack is commonly over internal partitions and glazing, with or without resilient rails and compression.
Mammoth NOVAhush Bafflestack requires compression within the plenum space to effectively manage STC ratings, with gaps between the insulation and slab ceiling drastically reducing efficiency.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(a), B2.3.1(b)
- Clause E3 Internal moisture: Performance E3.3.1
- Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1

The product has and can make available the following additional evidence to support the above statements:
Product Criteria
Design requirements
Mammoth NOVAhush Bafflestack is thermally bonded, polyester acoustic insulation for internal walls in buildings. NOVAhush Bafflestack is compressed and layered on top of a common wall, in the ceiling cavity to reduce noise transfer between spaces.

Installation requirements
When installing Mammoth NOVAhush Bafflestack, be sure to:
- Keep the product dry at all times
- Ensure a snug fit is achieved
- Minimum clearances are adhered to, as per NZS 4246
- Be aware of all hazards in the ceiling.
Stack the Mammoth NOVAhush insulation in layers, lengthwise over the common wall. As the roll is continuous, simply tear to required length. Centre the stack so that there is 300mm equally installed each side of the common wall (unless installing a double stack or otherwise specified). Use the cut edge as a guide to install the correct number of layers - compressing the baffles to fill the void. We recommend the ceiling tile face and top of the wall have acoustic foam applied when installing the last Bafflestack to reduce the chance of acoustic flanking at this junction.
Maintenance requirements
NOVAhush requires no maintenance. Once installed, it will fit to the space and will retain its performance for 50 years (with correct installation).

Environmental
Effective insulation helps to limit the amount of energy used to heat homes and other buildings. InsulPro’s commitment to sustainability starts with high quality insulation products. For over a decade InsulPro has been improving product technology and installation techniques to make sure the Mammoth product range delivers excellent results.
The Mammoth range is made from 100% polyester fibre. Polyester is made from a substance called PET, which is what plastic bottles are made from. PET can easily be recycled. InsulPro supports polyester recycling in two ways; using recycled fibre from plastic bottles as part of the Mammoth NOVAhush product range and recycling production off-cuts back into the process. Plastic packaging for the products is also recyclable. Our commitment to our sustainability journey continues - InsulPro is a carboNZero certified organisation and all Mammoth products are Red List Free (Declare programme).
Mammoth NOVAhush helps create a warmer, more healthy living space - enabling a more energy efficient space. This protects our environment by reducing our fossil fuel consumption.
