New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B1 Structure: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1, B2.3.1(a)

Frame suppliers will be able to advise which steel framing system they use, provide frame and truss detail drawings and a Producer Statement (PS1) to demonstrate compliance with NZBC Clause B1 - Structure. NASH 3405 an Alternative Solution is the current standard referred to by local Building Consent Authorities NASH Standard Residential and Low-Rise Steel Framing Part 1: Design Criteria Version 2: October 2010. 50-year Durability Statement for AXXIS Steel for framing is available from New Zealand Steel. Steel is non-combustible. GIBĀ® Fire Rated Systems are available for load bearing and non load bearing steel frame walls and load bearing floor/ceiling systems (www.gib.co.nz). The Steel Construction Institute (SCI) in the UK has recently carried out a fire test on a light steel floor that achieved 90 minutes fire resistance to the BS EN 1365 fire test. Installation requirements
Co-ordination Ensure details and fixings required are provided for in the steel fabricators framing system. Refer to all drawings and calculations. Installation Install AXXIS roll formed framing to any technical recommendations or instructions given by the steel frame fabricator. Qualifications Work to be carried out by tradespeople experienced, competent and familiar with the materials and techniques specified. Information The steel frame supplier will provide a territorial authority- approved producer statement(design) and supplementary drawings showing dimensions, bracing and assembly
