Compliance Statement
Scope of Use
Hallmark doors are designed for, but not limited to, use in projects within the following
scope:
· Housing and residential
apartment buildings, and their associated ancillary and outbuildings - Interior and Sheltered Exterior use (check with Hallmark to ensure you have specified the right product for your application).
· Commercial buildings, and
their associated ancillary and outbuildings - Interior and Sheltered Exterior use (check with Hallmark to ensure you have specified the right product for your application)
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(b)
• Hallmark Doors have a durability beyond 5 years when correctly installed
and maintained, based on historic use in-market for more than 30 years.
• Hallmark Acoustic Doors, where glazed, contain glass that has been tested
and meets the requirements of BS EN 12600:2002 and BS EN 1288 Glass in
Building. Determination of the bending strength of glass.
• Hallmark Acoustic Doors will satisfy the requirements
of NZBC, B2 Durability under conditions of use, and Care of Product as detailed
by Hallmark Group or otherwise specified within contractual guarantees. - Clause C3 Fire affecting areas beyond the fire source: Performance C3.6, C3.7, C3.9
• In accordance with NZBC C/AS2 clause 4.16 and Appendix C
clause C6.1.1, Hallmark Fire Doors comply with NZS 4520 and are tested
to AS 1530.4. Fire doors are supplied
with Product Labels/ID tags which comply with NZS 4520, on which the Fire
Resistance Rating (FRR) and door set numbers are detailed. In accordance with
NZS 4520, Hallmark Group maintains a register of door sets, and issues an
installer’s declaration with each door set.
• Hallmark Fire Doors to be fitted with smoke seals in
accordance with NZBC C/AS2 clause 4.16.2 b) and Appendix C C6.1.2.
• If required, glazing to Hallmark Fire Doors is in
accordance with NZBC C/AS2 paragraph 4.2, uninsulated and insulated vision comply
with NZS 4520.
• Hallmark Fire Doors are to be self-latching, in
accordance with NZS 4520. The selection of hardware
to meet these requirements is not the responsibility of Hallmark Group but Hallmark
Group makes available a list of commonly specified and approved hardware for
use with its fire door set products.
• Hallmark Fire Doors are to be self-closing in
accordance with NZBC C/AS2 Appendix C, clause C6.1.4 and C6.1.5. If door is located on an escape route, a
self-closing device to be installed and adjusted to meet maximum frictional
forces requirements of NZBC C/AS2 Appendix C, clause 6.1.3. The selection of hardware to meet these requirements is not
the responsibility of Hallmark Group but Hallmark Group
makes available a list of commonly specified and approved hardware for use with
its fire door set products.
• Doors subdividing escape routes, to be designed in
accordance with NZBC C/AS2 clause 3.15, including door closers and latching,
locking devices, direction of opening, degree of opening, vision panels, hold
open devices, delayed action unlocking devices and panic fastenings. The selection of hardware to meet these requirements is not
the responsibility of Hallmark Group but Hallmark Group
makes available a list of commonly specified approved hardware for use with its
fire door set products. - Clause C4 Movement to place of safety: Performance C4.3, C4.4, C4.5
• In accordance with NZBC C/AS2 clause 4.16 and Appendix C clause C6.1.1, Hallmark Fire Doors comply with NZS 4520 and are tested to AS 1530.4. • Hallmark Doors can be used within as
accessible route where design consideration is given to compliance to NZBC
D1/AS1, paragraph 7.0.
• Hallmark Fire Doors to be installed with door handles that meet the
requirements of NZBC D1/AS1 clause 7.0.5.

approved hardware for use with its fire door set products. - Clause E2 External moisture: Performance E2.3.2, E2.3.7
• Hallmark Doors have not been tested for water
ingress in exterior installations and we make no statement as to its suitability
under NBCC E2 “External Moisture”. All exterior doors should be given as much
shelter as permissible and be fitted with appropriate flashing systems. - Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.2, F2.3.3
- F2 HAZARDOUS
BUILDING MATERIALS: F2.3.1, F2.3.2 and F2.3.3
- Hallmark Doors are manufactured using inert, nontoxic
materials
- Hallmark Europa Fire Doors contain no Asbestos, Crystalline
Silica or other inorganic fibers.

If required, Hallmark Europa Fire Door
vision panels, side lights and overpanels, glazing complies with NZS 4223.3.
- Clause G6 Airborne and impact sound: Performance G6.3.1
- If required, acoustic seals are
installed to Hallmark Doors to achieve STC ratings based on
parameters shown on datasheets at www.hallmarkgroup.co.nz/acoustic-doors.

Design requirements
Hallmark doors are manufactured to your specification.
Installation requirements
Inspect doors upon
arrival for damage. Doors must be stored flat in a clean, dry area. An MDF
cover sheet must be placed on the top door at all times.
Doors must be installed
in dry buildings only. Doors installed in situations not at ‘lock up’ stage
void the warranty. Interior doors must not be installed within the direct air
movement of an air temperature controller.
Install the door in
accordance with the consented or design drawings. Ensure doors are installed
plumb, level, and in plane, within the tolerances set out in the MBIE Guide to
materials, tolerances, and workmanship in residential construction.
All doors must have at
least three hinges. Doors over 2200mm high must have four hinges.
Check and all seals and
operating hardware to ensure good fit and proper operation.
