                                                                                                The SPS R130S/C Vari-Level drain is intended for use in commercial and residential applications with tiled, paved, or screeded floors requiring efficient surface and foul water drainage. It connects to 100mm pipework and features a cast iron body with a height-adjustable (20–55mm) satin 316 stainless steel round grate to suit different floor finishes. Its membrane clamp collar with weep holes integrates with waterproofing membranes, preventing water ingress, consistent with NZBC E1. 
Restrictions include use only with compatible 100mm pipe materials (PVC, HDPE, copper) and within drainage systems designed to meet NZBC G13 and E1 requirements. It is not suitable for pipe sizes other than 100mm without modification. The SPS 130S/C Vari-Level drain meets NZBC Clause E1 performance requirements by efficiently collecting and directing surface water to appropriate outfalls, preventing damage or nuisance from surface water to property and people. 
E1 requires drainage systems to convey surface water using gravity flow where possible, avoid blockages, leakage, and ingress of roots or groundwater. The drain’s cast iron body and stainless steel grate ensure durability and corrosion resistance, complying with material and workmanship quality standards stated in E1/AS1 and E1/AS2 Acceptable Solutions. It integrates membrane clamp collars with weep holes, protecting against water entry into buildings, aligning with E1 moisture protection objectives.Applicable standards include AS/NZS 3500.3 (stormwater drainage) referenced in E1/AS2 for design and installation.  
Acceptable Solutions E1/AS1 and E1/AS2 provide prescriptive methods to demonstrate compliance, while Verification Method E1/VM1 offers a performance-based route confirming surface water management against defined rainfall events.

                                                                                                The SPS 130S/C Vari-Level drain, designed with a 130mm round stainless steel grate and cast-iron body, is engineered to connect with 100mm
pipework, supporting the efficient conveyance of foul and surface water in
drainage systems.  
Regarding NZ Building Code (NZBC) Clause G13 Foul Water, the
drain design aligns with the performance requirement of conveying foul water
from buildings to drainage systems, minimizing blockage and leakage risk, and
allowing maintenance access, which are essential for compliance under G13.  
In
relation to Clause E1 Surface Water, while the drain's grate and build support
surface water disposal, full compliance with E1’s requirements for sediment
control and protection against debris ingress depends on the drain's
integration within a compliant drainage system featuring necessary sumps and
outlets.  
Therefore, the SPS 130S/C drain contributes towards meeting G13 and E1
objectives but requires appropriate system installation to fully comply with

                                                                                            The SPS R130S/C Vari-Level drain is designed for commercial and residential use with tiled, paved, or screeded floors. The membrane clamp collar with weep holes prevents water ingress into floors, supporting NZBC E1 moisture protection.  
The satin finish provides a corrosion-resistant, durable appearance suitable for visible installations.  
It installs vertically, secured to waterproof membranes, with push-in or coupling connections for PVC, HDPE, or copper pipework.  
Accessories include extension pieces and coupling adapters.

                                                                                            Installation requirements
                                                                                            The R130S/C requires a stable, level substrate compatible with tiled,
paved, or screeded finishes. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and
structurally sound to support the drain and surrounding finishes. 
 Membrane
waterproofing should be installed over the substrate, extending into the
drain’s clamp flange but not obstructing weep holes. The drain height is
adjusted to match finish levels, ensuring a flush grate surface.  
Avoid extreme conditions
during installation, as they can hinder sealing or membrane adhesion.
Installers should have plumbing and waterproofing qualifications.  
Fix the drain
by clamping the membrane flange to the waterproofing membrane, using push-in or
coupling connections. Seal around the membrane flange with compatible
waterproofing sealants to prevent leaks.  
Finishing requires that the grate sit
flush with the finished surface for optimal drainage. Verify water flow and
leak-tight integrity before commissioning. Technical documents are available

                                                                                            Maintenance requirements
                                                                                            The SPS R130S/C drain requires regular maintenance to comply with NZBC durability by ensuring the grate and surrounding system remain clear of debris to prevent blockages and overflow. Failure to maintain can lead to water damage, reduced drainage efficiency, and may void warranties.  
Contractors must install as per manufacturer instructions, ensuring secure fixing, proper sealing to membranes, and connection to compatible 100mm pipework to avoid leaks.  
Post-installation, verify water flow and leakage resistance. Building owners should perform routine visual inspections and cleaning to maintain drainage performance and avoid costly repairs.  
At product end-of-life, components can be safely disposed of per local regulations; stainless steel and cast-iron parts are recyclable, supporting sustainability.
