New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B1 Structure: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B1.3.3, B1.3.4
B1 Structure: Metroglass IGUs are manufactured to project specific requirements in accordance with acceptablesolution B1/AS1 (which cites NZS4223 set of standards) - Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1
B2 Durability: Metroglass IGUs are manufactured to Acceptable Solution B2/AS1 and are tested by IGUMA to BS EN1279–4 in accordance with NZS4223.2. Storage, handling, transport, preservation and glazing must be carried outin accordance with AS/NZS 4666:2012. Water must not be trapped against the edge seal as this will result in failureand ultimately condensation on the internal glass surfaces. IGUs must not be exposed to elevated heat.Refer to Window & Glass Association of New Zealand (WGANZ) website for proof of compliancehttps://www.wganz.org.nz/double-glazing-manufacturers/ - Clause E2 External moisture: Performance E2.3.1, E2.3.2, E2.3.7
E2 External Moisture: Glass is impervious to water. Adequate drainage is required in the glazing system to ensurethat water, moisture, or condensation are not trapped against the edge seal as this will result in failure - Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1, F2.3.2, F2.3.3, F2.3.3(a), F2.3.3(b), F2.3.3(c)
· F2
Hazardous Building Materials: Metroglass IGUs likely to be subject
to human impact safety can be manufactured to specific
project requirements to comply with NZS 4223.3 in
accordance with F2/AS1 clause 1.0.
NZS4223.3. Metroglass IGUs can be manufactured in accordance with NZS4223.3 for
human impact location to the project requirements. - Clause F4 Safety from falling: Performance F4.3.1, F4.3.4
· F4 Safety
from falling: Metroglass IGUs can be manufactured in accordance with NZS4223.3
clause 21 Window glazing safeguarding a fall, to the specific project
requirements. - Clause G7 Natural light: Performance G7.3.1, G7.3.2
· G7/AS1
Natural Light: Metroglass IGUs can be manufacturedto comply with the building
code or to the required
Visible Light Transmittance (VLT) of the IGUs specifiedto the
project specific requirements. design. - Clause H1 Energy efficiency : Performance H1.3.1
· H1 Energy
Efficiency: Metroglass IGUs can be manufactured to project specific
centre of glass thermal transmittance (Ugw). They are
made from a range of glass types (i.e., Low E coated
glass, float glass, laminates, obscures, tints), spacer widths and argon gas, which
establish the IGU U-value to EN673, which ultimately is utilised to calculate
the window R-value (by others).
Notes

Evidence
The product meets the requirements set out in the following documents, or relevant parts of cited standards within the documents:
Metroglass
IGUs are manufactured for, but not limited to, use in projects within the
following scope:
· All
building types located at less than 800m[AG1] above
sea level.
· All
NZS3604 wind zones up to and including extra high.
· Site
specific design wind pressures above the NZS3604 windzone values (subject to
design checks and confirmation).
Metroglass
IGUs are customer manufactured to the requirements of each project. Prior to
manufacture, the following project criteria are validated and confirmed by the
purchaser:
· IGU size
· IGU
thickness
· Glass
thickness and type
· Project
wind zone or specific engineering design factored wind pressure
· IGU
performance criteria, i.e. U-value, Solar Factor, VLT, Safety Glass
requirements, colour considerations
For
guidelines see IGUMA IGU

[AG1]I
couldn’t find anything that refers to sea level. Is this a limitation or can we
go right to sea level?
