Product Description

FIRESTOP Inspection Hatch is designed for use in fire-rated plasterboard walls and ceilings where access to concealed building services is required while maintaining the fire integrity of the system. Suitable for wall and ceiling systems rated up to -/60/60, the lightweight 300 × 300mm hatch can be installed directly into plasterboard without additional framing. Designed for interior applications, the hatch incorporates an intumescent sealing strip to help prevent the passage of smoke and flame without the need for additional sealant. The powder-coated finish provides a clean appearance without stopping or painting, making it ideal for commercial, residential, and maintenance access applications. Tested to AS1530.4:2014 by BRANZ and FireTSLab.

Product Criteria

Design requirements

FIRESTOP Inspection Hatches are designed for firestopping apertures formed in fire-rated plasterboard walls and ceilings for inspection or access purposes. Supplied in a standard 300mm x 300mm size, the hatch features a lightweight construction that eliminates the need for additional framing during installation. The product must be installed in accordance with the relevant tested and assessed systems to AS 1530.4:2014 and AS 4072.1:2005.

Installation requirements

Refer to firestopcentre.co.nz for FC tech drawings, product information, and test reports relating to specific application, design, and installation instructions. Products must not be modified in any way that may compromise performance. All fire-rated service penetrations must be labelled in accordance with AS 4072.1:2005.

FIRESTOP products should be stored in a clean, dry location and kept in their original packaging prior to installation.

Maintenance requirements

FIRESTOP products have no specific maintenance requirements. Damaged products should be repaired or replaced to maintain the required FRR of the fire-rated system.
