can produce beams of your choice up to 8.5mtrs long in both #1
Structural VSG6 and SG8 (conditions apply. We also create laminated
beams for special projects. Contact us for more information.
- Beams charged on a selected length bases
- Bandsawn (BS4S) or dressed (D4S) finish.
- MacDirect
grades all beams as No.1 structural grade, giving a strength rating of
VSG6.
- MacDirect also stress tests framing and beams to meet SG8
standards.
- Heart Macrocarpa is rated as similar natural durability as H3.1 treated pine.
- Not recommended for in-ground use.
- For
structural use where directly exposed to weather, it is acceptable to
use macrocarpa/cypress by requesting a 15 year lifespan.
- The beam or
post needs to be visible for inspection and can be replaced easily.
- Does
not meet 50 years standards for external use under the NZ building
code.
