Scope of use
Roofing Industries EZI-FLO™ gutter systems for buildings constructed within the scope of:
• AS/NZS3500.3
• MRM (MRM Code of Practice)
• SA HB 39 Installation code for metal roof and wall cladding

New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B1 Structure: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B1.3.3, B1.3.4, B1.3.5, B1.3.6, B1.3.7
To comply with NZBC Clause B1 – Structure Roofing Industries Rainwater Systems shall be fixed in accordance with
the Load Span Graphs and fixing patterns and detailed in:
- Roofing Industries Rainwater Systems Profile Technical Statement (PTS) or
- NZ Metal Roofing and Wall Cladding Code of Practice (COP) Section 3
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(c)
B2 – Durability
To comply with NZBC Clause B2, Roofing Industries Rainwater Systems.and flashings substrate material and
fasteners shall be selected in accordance with Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 Table 20: Material Selection.
- Clause E1 Surface water: Performance E1.3.1, E1.3.2, E1.3.3, E1.3.3(a), E1.3.3(b), E1.3.3(c), E1.3.3(d), E1.3.3(e), E1.3.3(f)
E1 Surface Moisture
• External gutters shall be selected in accordance with Section 5 and Figure 15 of Acceptable Solution E1/AS1.
Alternatively, the NZMRM COP Section 5 – Roof Drainage and the gutter calculators may be used to support
evidence an Alternate Solution.
• Downpipes shall be selected in accordance with Section 4 and Table 5 of Acceptable Solution E1/AS1. Alternatively,
the NZMRM COP Section 5 – Roof Drainage and the downpipe calculators may be used to support evidence an
Alternate Solution.
- Clause E2 External moisture: Performance E2.3.1
Roofing Industries Rainwater Systems, shall be installed and maintained in accordance with
manufacturer’s recommendations and details (available on www.roof.co.nz), Acceptable Solution
E2/AS1 where applicable and/or the NZMRM COP in order to comply with NZBC Clause E2 – External
Moisture

NEW ZEALAND BUILDING CODE (NZBC)
• B1— Structural, gutter brackets at fixed to the fascia to load application.
• B2/AS1 will be met by nominated materials in the following environments as defined in COLORCOTE or COLORSTEEL
• E1— sets the design rainfall intensities and also makes other requirements for gutters

Use in Service History
Roofing Industries EZI-FLO™ Rainwater System
Test information available for our coil supplied by NZ Steel (COLORSTEEL) and Pacific Coilcoaters (COLORCOTE) and past history of in-service use of metal long run roof and wall cladding within New Zealand.
Product Criteria
Design requirements
Selection of the correct grade of material and appropriate surface coating is imperative to ensure gutter performs satisfactorily in the environment it is to be installed in and to meet the requirements of the NZBC.
Refer to COLORCOTE and COLORSTEEL using all the latest coating technology to AS/NZS 2728 depending on the durability required for the environment.
Contact Roofing Industries for environmental categories and surface coating literature. Zincalume, Aluminium-Zinc-Magnesium and Galvanised steel and is available in a full range of COLORCOTE and COLORSTEEL pre-painted finishes.

Materials in contact with Roofing Industries EZI-FLO™ Gutter must be compatible as specified in E2/AS1 Table 21.
Maintenance requirements
Regular maintenance will extend the life of Roofing Industries EZI-FLO™ Gutter and associated accessories.
• Maintenance guides are available from Roofing Industries or can be downloaded from either NZ Steel (COLORSTEEL)or Pacific Coilcoaters (COLORCOTE) website. Guide to regular maintenance.
• Inspect the roof, including fasteners, and repair any damage every 6 months.
• Wash areas not receiving regular rain washing with fresh water at least every 3 – 6 months.
• Remove debris from gutters every 3 - 6 months.
• Remove any noticeable build-up of salt deposits and/or other contaminants when identified.
• Please consult with your local distributor when considering over painting to ensure correct procedures are followed
Environmental
COLORCOTE and COLORSTEEL pre-painted steel has been extensively tested and proven in some of New Zealand's most extreme UV, wind, rain, snow and ice environments.
All COLORCOTE and COLORSTEEL is factory painted at either NZ Steel, Glenbrook or Pacific Coilcoaters, Penrose.
Both plants operate within strict environmental controls.
