Product Description
Scope of use
Eurostyle
Epic is a range of roof and wall cladding and soffit lining fully supported
systems which use a secret fixing, for non-specifically
designed timber framed buildings designed and constructed in accordance with
B1/AS1, NZS3604 and E2/AS1, non-specifically designed steel framed buildings to
NASH 3405, and specifically designed buildings in accordance with B1/VM1 and
AS/NZS 1170. Panels are joined by clipping
and seaming and do not have any external through fixings.
When used as a roof
cladding

Epic may be used with a minimum roof gradient of 3
degrees
When used as a wall
cladding
- Eurostyle
Epic Wall and Soffit Panel must be fixed over
a nominal 20mm drained cavity

The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

The product will, when
installed using the details in the Eurostyle Epic ® Profile Technical Summary,
meet the following provisions of the building code:

conditions of a) self-weight, b) imposed gravity loads arising from use, (c)

Product Criteria
Design requirements
Refer to Roofing Industries Profile Technical Summary information for characteristics and advantages of each Eurostyle profile, including recommended minimum roofing pitch.
Refer to Roofing Industries for material recommendations and standard pan widths to minimise waste and generally shorten lead times. Copper and Titanium zinc may require lead times of 3-4 months.
Refer to MRM Code of Practice, Section 11 for Secret fixed Cladding.
Eurostyle roofing
and cladding are fully supported systems which use a secret clip fixing. (Snaplock
is secret fixed without a clip) and panels are joined by clipping and seaming
without any external through fixings. For fixings and fixing patterns please
refer to the Roofing Industries Eurostyle Epic Profile Technical Summary and to
Roofing Industries for further information.
Ventilation of the
substrate is essential to allow condensation to dissipate and is critical for
skillion type roofs.
Plywood substrate
to be a minimum of 15mm thick and complying with AS/NZS 2269.0, minimum CPD
grade with the sanded side upwards, treated H3.2 with waterborne CCA treatment
and kiln dried after treatment. A breather type underlay is recommended over
the plywood substrate.
Rigid
wall underlay - Plywood or fibre cement sheet complying with NZBC Acceptable
Solution E2/AS1, Table 23.
Installation requirements
Materials
in contact with Eurostyle Eurolok/Spanlok must be compatible as specified in
E2/AS1 Table 21.
Maintenance requirements
Regular
maintenance will extend the life of Eurostyle
Epic and associated
accessories.
Maintenance guides are available from Roofing
Industries or can be downloaded from either NZ Steel or Pacific Coilcoaters
website.
Guide to regular maintenance-
- Inspect the roof,
including fasteners, and repair any damage every 6 months. Wash areas not receiving regular rain washing with fresh water at
least every 3 – 6 months.
- Remove debris from gutters every 3 - 6 months.
- Remove any noticeable buildup of salt deposits and/or other
contaminants when identified.
- Please consult with
your local distributor when considering over painting to ensure correct
procedures are undertaken.

Environmental
Colorsteel and
Colorcote prepainted steel has been extensively tested and proven in some of
New Zealand's most extreme UV, wind, rain, snow and ice environments.
All Colorsteel and
Colorcote is factory painted at either NZ Steel, Glenbrook or Pacific
Coilcoaters, Penrose. Both plants operate within strict environmental controls.
