Scope of use
Limitations on Use of Building Product
- GreenStuf Sound Solution must be installed only when the
building is enclosed and when construction materials have
achieved the required maximum moisture content or less.
- GreenStuf insulation may not be
suitable for all applications, as stipulated in the NZBC.
Please consult a fi re engineer when specifying GreenStuf.
- No gaps
to be allowed through the stack and small pieces should
be used to fi ll around ducting, services and structural
components. Consult with the HVAC installer/engineer prior
to commencing to ensure no loss of effective air movement
to the active return of the air conditioning system.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(a)
When the building is maintained so that the
provisions of NZBC E2 and E3 are met, where the product is not exposed to
conditions to diminish its performance, and the maintenance of the system is in
accordance with the product manufacturers maintenance instructions, the durability is 50 years for materials.
- Clause E3 Internal moisture: Performance E3.3.1
GreenStuf R-values have been determined by testing to AS/NZS 4859.1:2018
- Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1

Design requirements
GreenStuf®
Baffleblock®
is a 100% polyester
acoustic insulation designed to be layer
stacked above partition walls to reduce sound
transmission through the ceiling plenum space
and is supplied as rolls pre-cut to 600mm wide.
To ensure New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) compliance,
architects and building designers are advised to consult
an engineer or the relevant NZ standards before specifying
acoustic insulation products.

Maintenance requirements
Durability: GreenStuf has a 50 Year Durability Warranty.
Moisture: GreenStuf is not affected by moisture.
Exposure to an atmosphere of 50°C at 90% relative
humidity for four days showed moisture absorption by
weight of less than 0.03%.
Vermin: GreenStuf is naturally resistant to insect and
vermin attack.
Warrantees
50 year durability and material warranty.
Environmental
All GreenStuf® insulation products are manufactured using the
same materials and under the same conditions, processes and controls as the
Environmental Choice New Zealand certified range as published at the date of
this document. All GreenStuf® products are manufactured from 100%
polyester fibre and contain a minimum of 45% already recycled fibre (from PET
plastic) and are manufactured under Autex's zero waste policy.
GreenStuf® products are Green Star NZ & Homestar compatible
and GreenStuf® products have been independently assessed and verified
compliant with Living Building Challenge projects. For more information
