Scope of Use

- Is suitable for use in some wet areas such as kitchens and laundries.
- Is suitable for use where fire ratings need to achieve a group 1-s when combined with an intumescent coating.
- Is suitable for both commercial and residential applications.
- Is suitable for some applications where sound absorption is required.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1, B2.3.1(c)
VidaGroove™ Slats have a 7-year product warranty. This ensures the product will be free from defects or delamination for 7 years from the purchase date. VidaGroove™ Slats have a density of 650kg/m³-720kg/m³ and a UV-cured Oil to protect the panel's surface.
- Clause C2 Prevention of Fire occurring: Performance C2.2
To meet clause C2 Prevention of fire occurring VidaGroove Slats must not be placed near a heat source that will cause the surface temperature to exceed 90 degrees.
- Clause C3 Fire affecting areas beyond the fire source: Performance C3.4, C3.4(a)
VidaGroove™ Slats achieve a group 3 fire rating with their standard prefinished lacquer coating, this relates to flash-over occurring between 2-10 minutes. VidaGroove™ Slats can achieve a group 1-s fire rating when an intumescent coating is introduced, resulting in flash-over occurring after 20 minutes with a smoke growth rate of less than 5m2/s.
- Clause E3 Internal moisture: Performance E3.3.4, E3.3.5, E3.3.6
VidaGroove™ Slats UV lacquer coating system creates a surface that is impervious and easily cleaned.
- Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1
VidaGroove™ Slats are safe when handled, have no added formaldehyde, and achieve an E1 Formaldehyde Emission rating.

Design requirements
VidaGroove™ Slats are prefabricated battened panels made from walnut, oak, and ash on recycled felt. Offering striking results on vertical, horizontal, and curved surfaces.
VidaGroove™ Slats are designed to combine aesthetics with acoustic benefits and are easily installed onto walls and ceilings.
VidaGroove™ Slats are available in 5 different prefinished colours, an unfinished oak option and come in 3000mm x 600mm panels.

Installation requirements
We recommend VidaGroove Slats Products are handled and installed by an experienced joiner/builder.

Handling & Storage prior to Installation:
- Avoid leaning panels against walls.
- Do not store or transport panels in direct sunlight.
- Store panels where construction traffic and construction activity will not damage panels.
- Treat panels as a finished product and avoid dragging panels on the outer surface or across other surfaces.
- Store only in dry interior conditions on a minimum of three bearers across the full width of the panels keeping it flat at all times.

Prefinished Timber slats can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Felt can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.
