Scope of use

CODEMARK PENDING: August 2026

Single ply PVC waterproofing membrane systems for cold and warm flat and pitched roofs over a range of substrates as listed. 

Systems include:  Roofing membranes  Adhesives  Fixings  Vapor control layers  Accessories to complete the installation 

Limitations:  

Minimum falls: 

o roofs with minimum fall of 2º 

o decks with minimum fall of 1.5º 

o internal gutters with 0.6º 

Only suitable for use on roofs where no fire rating is required. 

Only vapour barriers, insulation, insulation fixings and components provided by or approved by Archityne Ltd are suitable for use in Renolit Alkorplan roofing membrane systems. 

Roofs requiring routine access for maintenance and access to plant are to be provided with suitable dedicated walkways. • Installation is required by an Archityne Ltd approved installer. 

New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)

The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

• Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1, B2.3.1(a), B2.3.1(b)

  B2.3.1 b) 15 year durability requirement B2.3.2 requires all components of a system that is difficult to access or replace to have the same durability Durability requirement is supported by SGS and SKZ test reports, and BBA Agrément Certificate 10/4808, with expected life of at least 35 years.

• Clause C3 Fire affecting areas beyond the fire source: Performance C3.5

  C3.5 assigned a reaction to fire classification Class E to BS EN13501-1:2018 and are suitable for use on roofs where no fire rating is required. Refer to fire test report

• Clause E2 External moisture: Performance E2.3.1, E2.3.2, E2.3.7

  E2.3.1 - Roofs must shed precipitated moisture.

  E2.3.2 - Roofs and exterior walls must prevent the penetration of water that could cause undue dampness, damage to building elements, or both. Supported by  SGS and SKZ test reports, and BBA Agrément Certificate 10/4808.

• Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1

  F2.2 and F2.3.1 Renolit membranes are fabricated from non-toxic materials. Refer to Safety Data Sheets. 
  

• Clause G12 Water supplies: Performance G12.3.2, G12.3.2(c)

  G12.3.2 c) - suitable for the use of the collection of water for potable use. Fabricated from non-toxic materials - refer to safety data sheet.

Design requirements

Flat/pitched cold and warm roofs with the following substrates: 

o Plywood 

o Strandsarking 

o Concrete (with separation layer) 

o Metal tray deck 

o Rigid insulation - EPS, XPS, PUR, PIR (with separation layer)

o Existing bituminous substrates (with separation layer) 

Installation requirements

Install in accordance with Archityne Ltd installation instructions document

Maintenance requirements

Maintenance instructions are contained within Archityne Ltd installation instructions document. • Maintenance inspections are required as per the warranty. 

Warrantees

Refer to www.archityne.co.nz. 

Decking 15 years. 

Roofing 15-20 years. 

Refer to supplier in accordance with projects conditions.
