Product Description
Scope of use
Roofing Industries Ezi-Flo™ External Multifit™ fascia systems for buildings constructed within the scope of NZS3604 for Timber Framed buildings and NASH 3405 for Steel Framed Houses.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B1 Structure: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2
- Clause E1 Surface water: Performance E1.3.2
Notes
- B1—Structural, Multifit™ Fascia brackets at fixed to the end of truss or rafters to suit roof application, maximum spacing 1200mm.
- B2/AS1 will be met by nominated materials in the following environments as defined in COLORCOTE or COLORSTEEL
- E1 – SURFACE WATER Roofing Industries Ezi-Flo™ Multifit® Fascia and Spouting Systems will comply with clause E1 of the New Zealand Building Code when designed in accordance with E1/AS1. In heavy snowfall areas, brackets and snow straps must be fixed at 450mm centres. In high wind areas it is advisable to fix the brackets at 600—700 mm centres maximum.

Use in Service History
Roofing Industries Ezi-Flo™ Multifit Fascia.
Test information available for our coil supplied by NZ Steel (COLORSTEEL) and Pacific Coilcoaters (COLORCOTE) and past history of in-service use of metal long run roof and wall cladding within New Zealand.
Product Criteria
Design requirements
For fixings, refer to the Roofing Industries Ezi-Flo™ Multifit which is to be read in connection with NZ Metal Roof and Wall Clad-ding Code of Practice.
For purlin sizes, spacing and fixing, refer to NZS 3604 for Timber Framed buildings and NASH 3405 for Steel Framed Houses.
The substrate and coating system must be as recommended by COLORCOTE or COLORSTEEL for the environmental conditions at the intended building location and as specified in E2/AS1 Table 20
Installation requirements
Materials in contact with Roofing Industries Ezi-Flo™ Multifit Fascia must be compatible as specified in E2/AS1 Table 21.
• STEP 1: - Attach rafter Multifit® fascia bracket at each end of the run, then run a string line from end to end of the run. Attach one or two rafter brackets at mid-region of the run, level and in line with the string line.
• STEP 2: - Hook the fascia horizontally under each Multifit® fascia bracket, then flip the fascia forward and lever over the top of the bracket into the vertical position.
• STEP 3: - Adjust the fascia to the correct position by sliding it along the brackets, then secure the remainder of the intermediate brackets by twisting into fascia first, and then connecting to the rafters.
• STEP 4: - Fit the fascia accessories as required.
Maintenance requirements
Regular maintenance will extend the life of Multifit Fascia and associated accessories.
• Maintenance guides are available from Roofing Industries or can be downloaded from either NZ Steel (COLORSTEEL) or Pacific Coilcoaters (COLORCOTE) website. Guide to regular maintenance.
• Inspect the roof, including fasteners, and repair any damage every 6 months.
• Wash areas not receiving regular rain washing with fresh water at least every 3 – 6 months.
• Remove debris from gutters every 3 - 6 months.
• Remove any noticeable build-up of salt deposits and/or other contaminants when identified.
• Please consult with your local distributor when considering over painting to ensure correct procedures are undertaken.
Environmental
COLORCOTE and COLORSTEEL pre-painted steel has been extensively tested and proven in some of New Zealand's most extreme UV, wind, rain, snow and ice environments.
All COLORCOTE and COLORSTEEL is factory painted at either NZ Steel, Glenbrook or Pacific Coilcoaters, Penrose.
Both plants operate within strict environmental controls.
