Product Description

FIRESTOP Duct Wrap-38 is a 38mm thick, 96 kg/m³ flexible fire-rated insulation blanket encapsulated in reinforced aluminium foil for passive fire protection of rectangular and circular metal HVAC and kitchen extract ductwork. Suitable for rectangular ducts up to 1800mm × 1000mm and circular ducts up to 1000mm diameter, the system is designed to maintain the fire resistance of ducts and penetrations through fire-rated walls and floors, helping prevent the spread of fire and smoke. Tested and assessed to AS 1530.4:2014 (Section 9) and AS 4072.1:2005 for internal and external fire exposure. The system includes FIRESTOP Weld Pins, FIRESTOP Straps, and FIRESTOP Embossed Tape. Standard roll sizes are 600mm and 1200mm × 500mm. Ductwork shall comply with AS 4254.2:2012, Pressure Class 500 or higher.

FIRESTOP Duct Wrap-38 is designed for passive fire protection of rectangular and circular metal HVAC and kitchen extract ductwork where ducts penetrate fire-rated walls and floors or where the fire resistance of the duct system must be maintained. Suitable for rectangular ducts up to 1800mm × 1000mm and circular ducts up to 1000mm diameter, the system is intended for ductwork constructed to AS 4254.2:2012, Pressure Class 500 or higher. Suitable for internal and external fire exposure applications in plasterboard, masonry, and concrete constructions. The system consists of a 38mm fire-rated insulation blanket used with FIRESTOP Weld Pins, FIRESTOP Straps, and FIRESTOP Embossed Tape. Product Criteria

Design requirements

FIRESTOP Duct Wrap-38 is suitable for applications on rectangular metal ductwork up to 1800mm × 1000mm and circular metal ductwork up to 1000mm diameter, including kitchen exhaust systems. The system has been tested for both internal and external fire exposure conditions.

The product must be installed in accordance with the relevant tested and assessed systems to AS 1530.4:2014 and AS 4072.1:2005, including duct penetrations through fire-rated substrates.

Ductwork to be constructed in accordance with AS4245.2-2012 Pressure class 500 or higher.

Installation requirements

Refer to firestopcentre.co.nz for FC tech drawings, product information, and test reports relating to specific application, design, and installation instructions. Products must not be modified in any way that may compromise performance. All fire-rated service penetrations must be labelled in accordance with AS 4072.1:2005.

FIRESTOP products should be stored in a clean, dry location and kept in their original packaging prior to installation.

Maintenance requirements

FIRESTOP products have no specific maintenance requirements. Damaged products should be repaired or replaced to maintain the required FRR of the fire-rated system.
