Product Description
Scope of use
Kingspan Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape is part of the RAB™ Board system by James Hardie™. It can be used to join the laps of wall and roof underlays, damp proof membranes, vapour control products such as foil underlays and rigid sheathing products (e.g. plywood rigid underlay, OSB board, fibre cement and insulation panels). Installer or designer must check the compatibility of Kingspan Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape with the substrate manufacturer.
For flexible underlay joining in both residential and commercial buildings, Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape must be used within the following scope:
- With flexible underlays that meet the performance requirements outlined in standard NZS 2295.2006.
- Is suitable to use with air barrier underlays in unlined wall spaces.
- Is suitable to be used in conjunction with thermal breaks on steel framed buildings
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(b), B2.3.2(b)
Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape will meet or contribute to meeteing the performance requirements of NZBC Clauses B2, Durability, B2.3.2[b] 15 years*, and B2.3.2.
* Note: the external cladding must be maintained according with the cladding manufacturer’s instructions and the cladding remains weather resistant. Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape must not be exposed to the weather/UV for more than 180 days.
- Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1
Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape will meet or contribute to meeteing the performance requirements of NZBC Clause F2 Hazardous Building Materials.
