Scope of Use
GMPTD4002 Guidemaster Concrete Paver Directional Tactile Ground Surface Indicator (TGSI) - A Concrete paver Directional / Leading tactile indicator, embedding into mortar and rebated against substrate finish for roading, civil works and foot paths.
Lead the vision impaired to Hazard / Warning Tactiles to warn as:
- Life threatening hazards where serious falls may occur, such as at railway platforms, wharves, vehicular driveways and exits from car parks, etc., which intersect access paths
- To indicate that a point of importance has been reached, such as the location of a bus sign or tram stop or the location of a change of direction on a pedestrian crossing island or as wayfinding to signify the location of a change of direction while traveling
- At the top and bottom of stairways and ramps warning of a change in level.
- At pedestrian crossings to indicate the path of travel

Design requirements
Designed primarily for the exterior environment, designed for accessibility to lead and guide the visually impaired to hazard / warning tactile. Please refer to AS/NZS 1428.4.1:2009 and RTS 14 for design guidelines.
Installation requirements
Embedded into Mortar and rebated against substrate finish.

Maintenance requirements
Regular Cleaning:
- Remove dirt, debris, leaves, and other foreign materials from the tactile indicators regularly using a broom, brush, or a leaf blower.
- Periodically wash the surface with water and mild detergent to remove stains and accumulated grime. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the concrete or carborundum.
Regular Maintenance Schedule:
- Establish a regular maintenance schedule for concrete paver tactile indicators with carborundum inserts, depending on the level of foot traffic and environmental conditions in the area. More heavily used areas may require more frequent inspections and maintenance.
