Product Description

FIRESTOP Duct Hatches are designed for use in fire-rated rectangular ducts (minimum width 310mm) and circular ducts (minimum 300mm diameter) where access is required for inspection, maintenance, or cleaning while maintaining the fire resistance of the ductwork. Designed for use with FIRESTOP Duct Wrap-38 systems, the hatch itself forms the fire seal to the duct, eliminating the need for a separate non-fire-rated access hatch. Suitable for horizontal and vertical duct installations with internal and external fire exposure conditions, the system is tested to AS1530.4:2014 and achieves fire ratings up to -/120/120. Standard small, medium, and large hatch sizes are available for rectangular ducts, with custom sizes available on request. Circular duct hatches are custom manufactured to suit duct diameter requirements. Ideal for HVAC and kitchen extract duct applications.

Product Criteria

Design requirements

FIRESTOP Duct Hatch is suitable for applications on rectangular metal ductwork min. duct width of 310mm and circular metal ductwork with a min. diameter of 300mm, protected with FIRESTOP Duct Wrap-38. The system has been tested for both internal and external fire exposure conditions, including kitchen exhaust systems. The product must be installed in accordance with the relevant tested and assessed systems to AS 1530.4:2014 and AS 4072.1:2005. Ductwork to be constructed in accordance with AS 4245.2-2012 Pressure class 500 or higher.

Installation requirements

Refer to firestopcentre.co.nz for FC tech drawings, product information, and test reports relating to specific application, design, and installation instructions. Products must not be modified in any way that may compromise performance. All fire-rated service penetrations must be labelled in accordance with AS 4072.1:2005.

FIRESTOP products should be stored in a clean, dry location and kept in their original packaging prior to installation.

Maintenance requirements

FIRESTOP products have no specific maintenance requirements. Damaged products should be repaired or replaced to maintain the required FRR of the fire-rated system.
