Scope of use
EXPOL-X is a premium product for insulating under concrete floors. It is water resistant and has an extremely high compressive strength, which makes it suitable where high loadings are an issue.EXPOL provides high performance, solid insulation solutions for insulating both interior and exterior masonry walls. EXPOL –X is ideal for insulating the exterior of a masonry wall with its waterproof qualities.EXPOL-X is the ideal solution for insulating a retaining wall. Its waterproof qualities provide an excellent exterior insulation solution.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(a)
- Clause E3 Internal moisture: Performance E3.3.1
- Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1
- Clause H1 Energy efficiency : Performance H1.3.1, H1.3.2E

Installation requirements
Install the polystyrene sheets once the polythene DPM has been laid. Place the polystyrene sheets on top of the polythene DPM and butt together. Do not place the polystyrene under any footings or thickenings. Cut holes in the polystyrene with a sharp knife to accommodate any services. Lay reinforcing steel mesh over the polystyrene on mesh chairs.
