Product Description
Scope of use
The bituBOND membrane system is designed for protecting under floor slab, foundations and vertical walls from contaminated soil, dampness and vapour transmission.
The bituBOND® system is used in applications where damp proofing is required such as in non hydrostatic excavations or away from the water table. Suitable for residential homes, apartments, commercial buildings.
Substrates:
- Residential - Masonry blocks, insitu concrete, polystyrene blocks, under slab, plastic blocks
- Apartments - Masonry blocks, tilt slabs, insitu concrete
- Commercial - Masonry blocks, tilt slabs, under slab
- Shingle Roofs - used as an underlay
- Thatched Roofs - used in Pacific Islands as underlay waterproofing
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

Product Criteria
Design requirements
Masonry concrete blocks, in-situ concrete, tilt slabs to be sound, clean and dry, free of concrete release agents and concrete dust and contaminants.
All surfaces to be flush pointed.
Moisture content to be 75% RH.
For polystyrene block surfaces flush point any manufacturing grooves, foundation to the polystyrene block construction joint and ensure surface is clean and dry.
Ensure correct primer is used for substrate for the application.
Use extruded bitumen fillets where required.
Installation requirements
Refer the Waterproofing Systems installation guidelines and
specifications.
Only installed by licenced LBP registered Waterproofing Systems
NZ ltd applicators.
Quality Control checksheets must be completed for each job and
kept as a record of evidence to ensure the installation meets WPSNZ
specification.
The system should be installed in dry conditions.
The substrate
must have a maximum moisture content of 75% RH
for concrete at the time of laying.
For extended foundations, install extruded bitumen fillets.
For flush foundation, use bituBOND strips to create an under flashing at floor-wall construction joint.
Primer is applied at the correct application rate.

Maintenance requirements
Annual inspections must be made of the membrane top edge seal and protection, the backfill capping, and the drainage pipe to ensure all are functioning as originally design.

instructions available on our website and are attached to the Warranty
document.
Warrantees
Only installed by licenced LBP registered Waterproofing Systems
NZ ltd applicators.
When fixed according to specification and subject to normal environmental conditions and use, the bituBOND membrane system will have an in-service life of not less than 50 years.
A 20 Year Material Warranty is issued on receipt of Quality
Control Checksheet/s and warranty application.
