Grating is constructed of various size load bearings with 6mm square twisted cross rods forge welded to the upper edge of the load bars. A strong forge weld is achieved by the simultaneous application of electrical current and hydraulic pressure at the intersection point of each load bar and cross rod. This process produces an open web of steel capable of supporting loads.
