New Zealand designed and built solar water heating solutions. Solar water heating is an energy collection and storage system. Mirak offers a modular collector option where the collector aperture can be easily matched to the energy use required. System sizing can be calculated from a customers existing energy account in some cases. If this is not possible, Mirak can measure a customers existing hot water energy requirement and calculate a collector area to match. Estimates can also be made based on home design, the number of occupants in a home, and the type of appliances selected. The Mirak system uses imported vacuum tubes and reflector material to form the collector aperture. Collector frames are manufactured locally from marine grade aluminium to be compatible with most roof types, and be suitable in all New Zealand corrosion zones. Copper manifolds are also manufactured locally from New Zealand standard copper and brass fittings.
