The light coloured roofing choice ARDEX TPO is the smart choice when seeking an energy efficient light coloured, environmentally friendly roofing system that combines aesthetics with strong resistance to ultraviolet radiation, weathering, and outstanding seam strength. ARDEX TPO is a proprietary thermoplastic polyolefin combining polypropylene and ethylene propylene rubber. The scrim-reinforced membrane combines the durability of rubber with the heat weldability of a thermoplastic in a flexible sheet with excellent installed characteristics.
Scope of use
Ardex WPM 615 TPO Roofing Membrane has been appraised as a roof waterproofing membrane on buildings within the following scope:
- the scope limitations of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Paragraph 1.1 with respect to building height and maximum floor plan areas; and,
- with building structures designed and constructed to meet the requirements of the NZBC; and,
- with roof supporting structures of timber framing with substrates of plywood; and,
- with substrates of suspended concrete slabs; and,
- situated in NZS 3604 Building Wind Zones, up to, and including ‘Very High’.

ARDEX WPM 615 TPO can be applied to a variety of substrates.Substrates must be designed in accordance with the relevant standard. ARDEX WPM 615 TPO is an acceptable solution under the NZBC E2/AS1 is supplied as follows, with a complete range of accessories:
Roofing structure needs to be stable enough to support the temporary loading. Substrates need to be clean, smooth, dry and free of sharp edges, loose or foreign materials, oil, grease and other materials that may damage the membrane. All surface voids greater than 5mm wide shall be properly filled with an acceptable fill material. Place the membrane panel over the substrate and allow it to relax for approximately 30 minutes before seaming or flashing. Membranes are overlapped (side laps and end laps) in accordance with the installation instructions and details. Seams are heat-welded. This product must be applied by a trained ARDEX applicator
A yearly inspection should be carried out prior to
Winter to remove children's balls from gutters and roof outlets and ensure
there is no other damage caused by other trades such as Sky Television or air
conditioning equipment installers.
ARDEX WPM615 TPO has a warranty period of 20 years.
Heat Reflective - White colour results in a heat reflective index of 70% and retains a high proportion of this through its service life due to the colour fastness and retention of the membrane.
No Toxic Emissions - The membrane system's chlorine-free, non-halogenated and plasticiser-free formulation in combination with the hot-air welded seaming method produce no emissions harmful to the environment.
Bacteria Propagation Resistant - TPO Roofing Membrane exhibits excellent resistance to the propagation of discolouring bacteria that reduces the heat reflectivity and energy efficiency.
Low Carbon Footprint - The TPO membrane can also be easily recycled and has a lower production footprint than comparable systems.
