Vitrocsa joinery is designed for use in specific engineering design.
Vitrocsa joinery is custom fabricated to meet the requirements of each project. Units are glazed with insulated glass units (IGUs) and may include fixed or sliding panels. Prior to fabrication, the following project selections must be confirmed by the project specifier:
· Project wind zone. · Glass makeup / selections. · Opening panel size(s) and type(s), and configuration of fixed and opening panels, including any specific requirements for doors that are on access routes or escape routes. · Project vertical deflections. · Hardware. · Finish requirements for aluminium components. · Any project specific drainage requirements.
VA IGU, Mono and Invisible joinery is custom fabricated to the requirements of each project. Prior to fabrication, the following project selections must be confirmed by the project specifier: · Glass and component size. · Opening panel size(s) and type(s), and configuration of fixed and opening panels, including any specific requirements for doors that are on access routes or escape routes. · Project wind zone. · Project vertical deflections. · Any project specific drainage requirements. · IGU performance selections, including R-value, solar heat gain, VLT, and safety glazing requirements. · Safety fittings and hardware · Finish requirements and colour for aluminium components.
Limitations on the use of the building product: · VA IGU joinery is not suitable for use in buildings with high deflection or insubstantial protection from external moisture. · VA IGU joinery is not suitable for use where the recommended maintenance cannot be reasonably achieved.
VA IGU joinery has been tested in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and AS/NZS 4420.1:2016. Refer to Test Report QMTL 446.
VA IGU joinery is custom designed to meet project specific requirements including site wind load and vertical deflections.
VA IGU joinery IGUs are manufactured to AS 2047:2014 and AS/NZS 4420.1:2016 to satisfy Acceptable Solution B2/AS1.
VA IGU aluminium joinery is either anodised or powder coated. Anodised finishes are applied with a 25um thickness and comply with AS1231-2000. Anodising thickness is as per WANZ anodizing specification table 1 to meet corrosion zone requirement (as per NZS3604). Powder coated finishes are completed to AAMA 2604 architectural metal coatings standard.
The glazing system is composed of aluminium and 304 stainless-steel minimum fasteners, which are considered durable to meet a 50-year design requirement.
Sealants, drainage components, hardware and brush seals all have an intended design life of 15 years. Servicing and replacement of these components can be easily done to maintain the functionality and serviceability of the joinery system.
VA IGU joinery can be used within an escape route, as specified by an architect.
VA IGU joinery can be used within an access route, as specified by an architect.
VA IGU joinery has been tested in accordance with AS2047:2014 and AS/NZ4420.1:2016. Refer to Test Report Refer Test Report QMTL 446
VA IGU joinery IGUs are selected and designed to AS/NZS4420.1:2016 to meet Acceptable Solution F2/AS1 when specified. The following standards are used to verify DGU sizes and makeups when specified in project requirements.
· NZS4223.3:2016
· NZS4223.1:2008
· NZS4223.4:2016
VA IGU joinery can be fabricated with the area and Visible Light Transmittance (VLT) of glazing specified by the project requirements to help provide natural light and awareness of the outside.
VA IGU joinery is made up of IGUs which are manufactured to the specifications laid out in the project requirements. R-value requirements depend on the climate zone and project design. Glass specification, glass size, spacer and infill gas types are specified to meet project specific H1 requirements.

Design requirements that would support the use of the building product:
VA IGU joinery is designed for, but is not limited to, use in projects within the following scope: · Housing and residential apartment buildings, and their associated ancillary and outbuildings. · Building height up to three stories or 10 m. · Timber framed construction to concrete foundations. · All Wind Zones up to and including Extra High. · All Exposure Zones, except in microclimates where there is evidence of corrosion in adjacent structures caused by industrial or geothermal atmospheres. · Maximum IGU thickness is 32 mm. · Anodised or powder coated finish to aluminium.
VA IGU joinery may be used in projects outside this scope if other parties such as architects or engineers prescribe appropriate design and installation requirements.
VA IGU joinery installation requires more than general window or door installation experience. Due to the complexity of the system, Vitrocsa profiles should only be installed by our own installation experts, trained by Vitrocsa. Vitrocsa requires an exceptionally high level of precision for installation, for which an adequate amount of time should be programmed.
VA IGU joinery finishes, whether powder coated or anodized aluminium, need to be cleaned and maintained to ensure the decorative and protective properties of the coating are retained; the frequency of such cleaning will depend on many factors including: • The geographic location of the building. • The environment surrounding the building, for example, marine. • Levels of atmospheric pollution. • Prevailing wind. • Protection of the building by other structures. • Possibility of airborne debris (e.g., sand) causing corrosive wear of coating.
VA IGU joinery door, and window tracks should be cleaned on a regular basis.
Maintenance of VA IGU joinery shall be completed as often as is necessary to prevent deterioration in the installed environment, at minimum, in general environments, every 24 months. All other environments such as, but not limited to, marine, coastal, and industrial environments – every 12 months.
