The Interlocking panel system is a facade cladding system that is ideal for a design that requires a rainscreen cladding system in either the vertical or horizontal aspect.
The system consists of interlocking profiled sheets with variable widths ranging from 150-300mm being fixed to a metal or timber framework that is in turn fixed to the supporting structure (masonry or metal structure). The panels are simply connected by the use of an interlocking tongue and groove styled connection giving an elegant negative joint detail.
Depending on the material selected, but generally the system is applied using a minimum material thickness of 1.0 mm.
This system requires a lot of pre-design and planning and you are encouraged to consult with the team at Architectural Metalformers early in your design process to receive a free Architectural design advice service.
