Technical Statement
Product Description
IBuilt's timber I-Beams are unique combination of timber resources, components and advanced technology forming a structurally efficient “I” section. Manufactured by Louisiana Pacific (LP), IBeams are produced using high performance LVL flanges and 9.5mm structural OSB webs.
All components are assembled using only durable, exterior grade adhesives. IBeams are available untreated or treated to H3.1 (LOSP) from stock.
Advantages: Dimensional stability, lightweight, long spanability, elimination of mid-span blocking in floor joists.
Applications: Floor joists, Rafters.
Section sizes: 225x70, 240x70, 300x53, 300x 70and 356x70
Available lengths: 1.2M up to 12.0M in 0.3 increments.
Scope of use
In conjunction with
timber or lightweight steel framing that complies with the NZ Building Code, or
for existing buildings, where the designer and/or installer have established
that the existing structure is suitable for the intended building work.
In accordance with
I-Beam span tables or to the requirements of NZS 3604 as referenced in and
amended by B1/AS1
Within the building envelope where hazard class H3.1 or less
applies.
Fixing material to be in accordance with section 4,
NZS 3604:2011
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

Product Criteria
Design requirements
IBUILT™ supplies insecticide-treated I-Beams (I-Joists) for use as joist and rafter
framing in buildings, and located where the I-Beam is entirely contained within
the external envelope and where it is protected from exposure to moisture.
Installation requirements
Qualified Builder to comply with NZ Building Standards. Refer to IBuilt Design and Installation Guide.

PEFC Certified Product
PEFC certification includes
requirements for traceability and handling of PEFC certified
timber. A product carrying the PEFC label means it has
originated from a forest certified by a PEFC endorsed
scheme and has been handled by PEFC certified
organisations. NZWOOD provide a range of I-Beams and
engineered timber products that are PEFC certified. Our
supplier of I-Beams is Louisiana Pacific Corporation and our
supplier for engineered beams is Hyne Pty Australia.
